DIY LEATHER BLANKET LOOPS: a small space friendly way to store throw blankets

Back in the month of May, we had the pleasure of renovating A SHARED ROOM FOR TWO precious girls. Being that it was a shared space, every square foot needed to serve a purpose. Since the girls loved to read, we created a reading nook in one corner of the room and added these fun leather

blanket loops to store their favorite throw blankets.

They were incredibly easy to make so we are excited to get to share the process and tutorial with you! These are great for small spaces as they give function bare walls but really, they can work in any sized space.

Hope you enjoy!

SHOPPING LIST:

20" x 2" leather strip (we purchased ours here & it made 2 blanket loops)

TOOLS:

Leather cutting tool ( x-acto knife or even a sharp pair of scissors can also work)

STEP ONE

Using your leather cutting tool (or exacto knife), cut leather strip 20" long

STEP TWO

Find the center of your leather strip by marking 1" in from the side and 1" from the top, down

STEP THREE

Fold leather strip in half and clamp

and using your drill, drill hole through your mark

STEP FOUR

Using your drywall anchor and screw, secure loop to the wall

Loop blankets through and enjoy!

Don't forget to tag your finished projects using #RAKAHOMEdiy on Instagram so we can share!

Thanks so much for reading!
