40 SQ FT: a Nordic inspired micro kitchen R E V E A L
Alright guys! it is K I T C H E N week and this week we are so excited to share about the tiniest, full sized kitchen we have ever seen! Consisting of 40 sq ft and RV sized appliances, this kitchen is the
smallest kitchen we have worked in in a home.
Not a galley, an L, or a one wall kitchen but kind of a mixture between all three, the
layout itself reminded us of what you'd find in a tiny flat in Europe-
Inspired by Nordic micro cabin design and European kitchen layouts, our goal here was to work with
the layout we had, and simply update the look and feel of it (starting with walling up that awkward peek-a-boo hallway window!)
This allowed the kitchen to become a separate, more established space as well
as make the hallway area feel more updated and modern which we were excited about.
Now that the layout was decided, it was time to move to shelving and cabinet options. For upper cabinets, an open shelving concept allowed the space to feel bigger so we opted for a metal + wood combination.
The lower cabinets were in good condition, so we decided to keep them,
and update them by a simple refacing of the doors.
Our little guys were with us in this project so they were excited to jump in and help out
Alright, now that we walked you through layout and some of the process- let's get to befores and afters
